Fefu y Sus Amigas: A Community Theatre Project
In response to Maria Irene Fornès' seminal play, "Fefu and Her Friends", I embarked on a creative journey to craft a distinctive theatrical experience. This project features the Latina elders of the Sunnyside community, performing the play in their native Spanish, a translation completed by the playwright herself, along with their own true stories.

This project serves as an opportunity to celebrate the bonds of community and allows these women to be truly seen for who they are. "Fefu y Sus Amigas" embodies the essence of belonging and visibility.
